Historical ambience
Set in the historical scenery of the 1000-year old Martin's cathedral the Christmas market creates a festive atmosphere in the centre of Mainz. 100 festivly decorated stands illuminate the city.
Do not miss the eleven metres high and richly decorated Christmas pyramid at the entrance as well as the impressive hand-carved life-size crib figurines in front of the Gotthard chapel of St. Martin's cathedral.
At the lower entrance eight handcrafted angel figures go round in circles on a nine metres high musical clock.
Also take a walk through the inviting streets in the historic centre of Mainz with its nicely decorated shops and boutiques.

Christmas village
Diagonal in front of the printing shop of the Gutenberg-Museum a romantic Christmas village invites visitors to have a hot spiced wine at the fire. Reservations of the cosy wooden huts are possible under www.mainzerweihnachtsdorf.de (German)

There is also Christmas flair in other parts of the city, such as at Schillerplatz (Schiller square), Neubrunnenplatz (Neubrunnen square), Hopfengarten or at the central railway station.

Please use public transport to get to the Christmas market.
The Christmas market can be reached with almost all bus lines of the Mainz public transport company (Mainzer Mobilität).
Bus stops: Höfchen, Rheingoldhalle/Rathaus and Fischtor.

Car parks and parking offers
The car parks "Am Brand", "Rathaus", "Kaufhof", "Karstadt", "Kronberger Hof" und "Rheinufer" are in direct vicinity of the Christmas market.
Mainz offers parking hours as a gift. At several shops in the centre you receive a parking time voucher depending on your purchase - a great way to save money at the ticket machine, also on Saturdays during advent.
In all PMG run car parks you receive 10% reduction with card payments. Your PMG-parking ticket is valid for every MVG city line with up to 4 accompanying travellers.
Parking for travel buses
There is a parking possibility in Rheinstraße for 12 buses only few metres away from Rheingoldhalle and the Hilton hotel. From here it is a few minutes walk to the Christmas market.
